Electricity is conducted along wires, supported by pylons.

Electricity powers the light bulb.

What else is powered by electricity?

2.Petrol

Filling up a car with petrol

Petrol is burned to make power for the engine.

The burnt petrol turns to gas and comes out of the exhaust.

THE REASON WHY I should use less electricity and petrol is because

burning coal to make electricity, and petrol to run cars, pollutes our environment with CARBON.

Facts:
Carbon is a made when materials like wood, coal and petrol are burned.  You might know it as soot.  It is the black powder you see after a fire.

Burning coal and petrol makes gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

Carbon Dioxide gas is the biggest cause of the GREENHOUSE EFFECT.
