From a humble flower factory to the busy streets of New York, the film presents Maria, a young girl of 17 who has just discovered she is pregnant and has resigned from her job. To resolve this situation, she decides to transport drugs from her native Colombia to the United States.

Marston does not skimp on any details in order to demonstrate the severity of the situation facing these women (some almost little girls) who risk their lives by swallowing and transporting banned substances. The tension during every minute of the journey and how they are treated, as if they are worth less than their luggage, are portrayed with crude realism.
