Breathable Laminated Fabrics

Breathable fabrics such as Gore-Tex and Permatex are created by bonding breathable water proof membranes to the outer fabric to create all weather wear. Two or more fabrics are mixed together merging their performance characteristics. They are held together either by heating and then pressing polymer foam or film to one side of the fabric or by the use of an adhesive, similar to iron on interfacing.
