In defence of human free will

Without it, we would be puppets or robots.

Without it, no good, moral act would be genuinely good or moral because we wouldn't have the choice to do the opposite.

Without it, we would not be fully human.

Without it, the world would be bland and boring.

Without it, salvation wouldn't be possible because salvation requires making a choice.

Without it, believing in God would be meaningless because we wouldn't have made a free choice to do so.

Challenging human free will

An omnipotent God could have made us so that we didn't feel like puppets or robots.

We wouldn't miss making free choices because God could have just made it so that we feel we are making free choices, but we always 'choose' the most moral thing to do.

If being 'fully human' means war, poverty, corruption, murder, abuse.....I'd rather not be 'fully human'. Free will comes at too high a price.

Surely, God wants us all to believe in him and enjoy salvation, so it would be a good thing if we all just did, wouldn't it?

An omniscient God knew we would abuse free will, so He should never have given it to us.
