The meaning of positive approaches is to be operating in a way that considers the child-centred approach by:
By practising the steps above, you will consider each child as an individual and thus minimise the likelihood that the child will display negative behaviour. It's important that the childcare worker communicates using positive rather than negative statements. The aim is to try to encourage the children with positive statements rather than constantly remind them with negative statements.
Example of a positive statement: ‘If you know how many colours are in the rainbow, raise your hand Sara. Well done’.
Example of a negative statement: ‘Sara, I've told you before, don't shout out’.
The meaning of supporting positive behaviour: Supporting positive behaviour means that you draw attention to the positive behaviour and ignore the negative behaviour. By using this method and giving the child attention for positive behaviour, the child will be more likely to repeat it. It's crucial that you praise the child for the positive behaviour, possibly offering a reward.
However you support the children, your praise needs to be consistent. It must be ensured that the provision minimises the barriers to learning in order to avoid the likelihood of negative behaviour amongst children.

Many factors can influence the behaviour of children. Their needs must be responded to or they will be likely to behave negatively. Children need to develop to be able to behave positively within their society.
Children's development is linked to the areas of learning. Very young children don't understand the meaning of rules, they don't understand the need to share toys or take their turn. Upon reaching the age of 4, this can change. Care must be taken not to set expectations of children too high for them to achieve. This will make them feel worthless which will in turn impact their behaviour. Overly low expectations can also impact the child leading to boredom with the situation.
The environment can direct children's behaviour. A noisy environment can impair the child's ability to listen and concentrate. If the room is too hot or cold, the children's mood will change and they won't achieve their best. It's necessary to keep to consistent times when organising a daily programme within childcare settings. By organising consistent mealtimes, playtimes and nap times every day, children will develop and get used to the routine and understand its importance. There is also a need for an environment that offers suitable stimulation for the child's age and development stage. When children are kept happy they are more likely to display positive behaviour.
Expectations of behaviour vary within families/carers and can change over time. For example, for some families/carers it's acceptable to eat with a fork only while others require their children to learn to use a knife and fork. If expectations at home aren't the same as expectations at the setting, this can cause unnecessary conflict. Peers can also influence behaviour by persuading children to be part of a group that doesn't always display positive behaviour.
The way children and young people respond to changes can vary, depending on their age and understanding of the situation. A child may show jealous behaviour if a new baby comes to the family/carers or misbehave if a new member joins the family/carers after a divorce. A change of class at school can cause a child to become withdrawn and appear quiet. Whatever the change in the child's life, appropriate support must be offered.
If children receive a set of rules to follow, they will understand what's expected of them. If the rules and boundaries change, it will be difficult to manage behaviour. The boundaries need to be clear so that children understand what they can and can't do. Including children and young people in the discussion of setting rules and boundaries will mean they're more likely to be obeyed as the children understand their purpose.
Children may have specific needs that will make it difficult for them to cope with behaviour rules. They may throw toys or strike other children out of frustration. They will also fail to develop sufficient intellectual and language skills to cope with challenging situations.
15 months old: The child will throw toys or have a tantrum if angry. Doesn't like to share. An adult can draw their attention away from unacceptable behaviour.
18 months old: The child may be determined and frustrated and display angry behaviour if uncomfortable in a situation. An adult can draw the child's attention away from unacceptable behaviour.
2 years old: By now, the child starts to respond with anger if told off by an adult. The child will also get angry with peers and may bite, strike and push them.
3 years old: Understanding of rules starts to develop and the child knows that there is a need to apologise if they've done something wrong.
4 years old: By now the child understands basic rules and is starting to make sense of what's 'right' and 'wrong'. However, if the child hears swearing they will then use these words when speaking. Adults can't distract the child as easily, but reasoning may be possible.
5 years old: If the child displays unacceptable behaviour, they will feel guilty and ashamed. Sometimes the child will show off in front of friends, and adults will need to intervene if there is quarrelling. The child knows the methods of behaviour management such as being prevented from going out to play.
6 to 7 years old: The child's personality is developing and there will be periods of sulking or silly behaviour. By now, arguments between friends can be solved independently. They don't like to tidy up after activities and will often argue to avoid doing this. They understand the concept of 'right' and 'wrong'. They understand that rules are needed when playing a game.
8-12 years old: By now, behaviour depends a lot on peers and their expectations of them. Sometimes children will want to display suitable behaviour while other children will want to show unacceptable behaviour to draw attention. They may disagree with parents/carers' comments and feel that rules are unfair.
13-16 years old: Hormones can affect their moods and behaviour. They will also encounter many changes in their education and possibly in their family/carers which give them more independence. They may have experiences such as smoking, drinking alcohol and using drugs which are all linked to low self-esteem.
17-19 years old: By now the parent/carer should take the role of a guide rather than someone who disciplines the young person. The young person will learn from their mistakes and start a period of life which involves more freedom. However, they need to understand that conforming to rules is important.
Gall sawl ffactor ddylanwadu ar ymddygiad plant. Rhaid ymateb i’w hanghenion neu byddant yn debygol o ymddwyn yn negyddol. Mae angen i blant ddatblygu fel eu bod yn medru ymddwyn yn gadarnhaol o fewn eu cymdeithas.
Cysylltir datblygiad plant gyda’r meysydd dysgu. Nid yw plant ifanc iawn yn deall ystyr rheolau. Nid ydynt yn deall bod angen rhannu teganau neu gymryd eu tro ond unwaith y byddant yn cyrraedd tua 4 oed mae hyn yn newid. Rhaid gofalu na osodir disgwyliadau rhy uchel ar y plentyn a’i fod yn methu cyflawni. Oherwydd hyn bydd yn teimlo’n ddiwerth a fydd yn ei dro yn amharu ar ei ymddygiad. Gall ddisgwyliadau rhy isel hefyd amharu ar y plentyn gan arwain at ddiflastod gyda’r sefyllfa.
Mae’r amgylchedd yn gallu llywio sut mae plant yn ymddwyn. Gall amgylchedd swnllyd amharu ar allu’r plentyn i wrando a chanolbwyntio. Os yw’r ystafell yn rhy oer neu’n rhy boeth yna bydd hwyliau’r plant yn newid ac ni fyddant yn cyflawni i’r eithaf. Mae angen cadw at amseroedd cyson wrth drefnu rhaglen ddyddiol o fewn lleoliadau gofal plant. Wrth drefnu amseroedd bwyta, chwarae a chysgu cyson bob dydd, bydd plant yn datblygu ac yn arfer gyda’r drefn gan ddeall ei bwysigrwydd. Mae hefyd angen amgylchedd sydd yn cynnig symbyliad addas ar gyfer oed a cham datblygiad y plentyn. Wrth gadw plant yn hapus maent yn fwy tebygol o arddangos ymddygiad positif.
Mae disgwyliadau o ran ymddygiad yn amrywio o fewn teuluoedd/gofalwyr ac yn gallu newid dros amser. Er enghraifft mae rhai teuluoedd/gofalwyr yn gweld hi’n dderbyniol i fwyta gyda fforc yn unig tra bod teuluoedd/gofalwyr eraill angen i’w plant ddysgu defnyddio cyllell a fforc. Os nad yw disgwyliadau’r cartref yr un peth â disgwyliadau’r lleoliadau gall hyn achosi gwrthdaro diangen. Mae cyfoedion hefyd yn medru dylanwadu ar ymddygiad trwy berswadio plant i fod yn rhan o grŵp sydd ddim bob amser yn arddangos ymddygiad positif.
Gall y ffordd mae plant a phobl ifanc yn ymateb i newidiadau amrywio, gyda hyn yn dibynnu ar eu hoedran a’u dealltwriaeth o’r sefyllfa. Gall blentyn ymddwyn yn genfigennus os daw baban newydd i’r teulu/gofalwyr neu gall ymddwyn yn wael os bydd aelod newydd yn ymuno a’r teulu/gofalwyr yn sgil ysgariad. Gall newid dosbarth yn yr ysgol achosi plentyn i fod yn encilgar ac ymddangos yn dawel. Beth bynnag yw’r newid ym mywyd y plentyn mae’n rhaid cynnig cefnogaeth briodol.
Os yw plant yn derbyn cyfres o reolau i’w dilyn byddant yn deall beth sydd i’w ddisgwyl ohonynt. Os yw’r rheolau a’r ffiniau yn newid yna bydd yn anodd rheoli ymddygiad. Mae angen i’r ffiniau fod yn glir fel bod plant yn deall beth allant wneud a’r hyn na allant wneud. Bydd cynnwys plant a phobl ifanc yn y drafodaeth wrth osod rheolau a ffiniau byddant yn fwy tebygol o gael eu cadw gan fod y plant yn deall eu pwrpas.
Efallai bydd gan blant anghenion penodol fydd yn ei gwneud yn anodd iddynt ymdopi â rheolau ymddygiad. Efallai byddant yn taflu teganau neu daro plant eraill gan eu bod yn rhwystredig. Ni fyddant ychwaith yn datblygu sgiliau deallusol ac iaith ddigonol i fedru ymdrin â sefyllfaoedd heriol.
15 mis oed: Bydd y plentyn yn taflu teganau neu’n strancio os yn ddig. Heb fod yn hoffi rhannu. Gall oedolyn dynnu eu sylw oddi wrth ymddygiad annerbyniol.
18 mis oed: Gall y plentyn fod yn benderfynol ac yn rhwystredig gan arddangos ymddygiad blin os yn anghysurus mewn sefyllfa. Gall oedolyn dynnu sylw’r plentyn oddi wrth ymddygiad annerbyniol.
2 flwydd oed: Erbyn hyn mae’r plentyn yn dechrau ymateb gyda dicter os bydd oedolyn yn dweud y drefn. Mae hefyd yn mynd yn flin gyda chyfoedion gan efallai eu cnoi, eu taro a’u gwthio.
3 blwydd oed: Mae dealltwriaeth o reolau yn dechrau datblygu ac mae’r plentyn yn gwybod bod angen ymddiheuro os bydd wedi gwneud rhywbeth o’i le.
4 blwydd oed: Erbyn hyn mae gan y plentyn ddealltwriaeth o reolau sylfaenol gan ddechrau gwneud synnwyr o beth sydd yn ‘gywir ac ‘anghywir’. Fodd bynnag, os bydd y plentyn yn clywed rhegi yna bydd yn defnyddio geiriau o’r fath wrth siarad. Nid yw oedolion yn medru tynnu sylw’r plentyn gystal ond weithiau mae’n bosib rhesymu.
5 mlwydd oed: Os yw’r plentyn yn dangos ymddygiad annerbyniol yna bydd yn teimlo’n euog gyda chywilydd o’i hun. Weithiau bydd yn dangos ei hun o flaen ffrindiau a bydd angen i oedolion ymyrryd os fydd yna gweryla. Mae’r plentyn yn adnabod y dulliau o reoli ymddygiad megis cael ei atal rhag mynd allan i chwarae.
6 i 7 mlwydd oed: Mae personoliaeth y plentyn yn datblygu gan ddangos cyfnodau ble mae’n pwdu neu’n ymddwyn yn wirion. Erbyn hyn mae’n gallu datrys dadleuon rhwng ffrindiau yn annibynnol. Nid yw’n hoffi tacluso ar ôl gweithgareddau ac fe fydd yn aml yn dadlau er mwyn osgoi gwneud hyn. Mae’n deall y cysyniad ‘cywir’ ac ‘anghywir’. Mae’n deall bod angen rheolau wrth chwarae gêm.
8-12 mlwydd oed: Erbyn hyn mae ymddygiad yn dibynnu llawer ar gyfoedion a beth yw’r disgwyliadau ohonynt. Weithiau bydd plant yn awyddus i ddangos ymddygiad addas tra bydd plant eraill am dangos ymddygiad annerbyniol er mwyn tynnu sylw. Gallent anghytuno gyda sylwadau rhieni/gofalwyr gan deimlo bod rheolau yn annheg.
13- 16 mlwydd oed: Gall hormonau effeithio ar eu hwyliau a sut maent yn ymddwyn. Byddant hefyd yn dod ar draws llawer o newidiadau o ran eu haddysg ac efallai o ran y teulu/gofalwyr gan eu newid i fod yn fwy annibynnol. Efallai byddant yn cael profiadau megis ysmygu, yfed alcohol a defnyddio cyffuriau sydd oll â chyswllt gyda hunan-barch isel.
17-19 mlwydd oed: Erbyn hyn dylai’r rhiant/gofalwr gymryd rôl tywyswr yn hytrach nag un sy’n disgyblu’r person ifanc. Bydd y person ifanc yn dysgu o’u camgymeriadau ac yn dechrau cyfnod o’u bywydau a fydd yn golygu mwy o ryddid. Fodd bynnag mae angen iddynt ddeall bod cydymffurfio â rheolau yn bwysig.

When agreeing on achievable aims and setting boundaries it's important that everyone who is in contact with the child or young person is involved in the planning.
Realistic targets need to be set which correspond to the child's age and development stage with the intention for the child to succeed. Not doing this might cause the child to behave negatively. If the targets are too ambitious the child might give up, lose interest and behave in a challenging manner as they do not understand the requirements of the task or activity. On the other hand, if the targets are too easy and don't challenge the child, this might create a situation where the child misbehaves due to a lack of interest in the work set. When children are allowed to be part of the planning they feel included in the decisions made about them which will lead to positive behavioural outcomes.
When setting boundaries, it's important that the children understand the purpose of the boundaries and what's expected of them. There is no point telling a child not to climb the wall if you do not explain why. You need to explain to the children the dangers and likely consequences of rule-breaking and they need to know and understand the consequences of crossing these boundaries. As children get older, and understand more, they can see the purpose of the boundaries, and also better contribute to their imposition.
Here are a few examples of how rules can be set:
The setting and the home need to work in partnership to promote positive behaviour, taking steps to prevent negative behaviour, to reinforce the setting's rules and to support the school when a child or young person needs to be punished. This will send consistent messages to children about how to behave positively at the setting and at home.
Wrth gytuno ar nodau y gellir eu cyflawni a gosod ffiniau mae’n bwysig fod pawb sydd mewn cysylltiad â’r plentyn neu’r person ifanc yn rhan o’r cynllunio.
Mae angen gosod targedau realistig i gyd-fynd ag oed a cham datblygiad y plentyn gyda’r bwriad fod y plentyn yn llwyddo. Gallai peidio gwneud hyn achosi i’r plentyn ymddwyn yn negyddol. Os yw’r targedau yn rhy uchelgeisiol efallai bydd y plentyn yn rhoi'r gorau iddi, yn colli diddordeb ac yn ymddwyn yn heriol gan nad yw’n deall gofynion y dasg neu’r gweithgaredd. Ar y llaw arall os yw’r targedau yn rhy hawdd a heb fod yn herio’r plentyn, gall greu sefyllfa lle bydd y plentyn yn troi at ddrygioni oherwydd diffyg diddordeb yn y gwaith a osodwyd. Wrth ganiatáu i’r plant fod yn rhan o’r cynllunio byddant yn teimlo eu bod yn cael eu cynnwys yn y penderfyniadau a wneir amdanynt a fydd yn arwain at ganlyniadau positif o ran ymddygiad.
Wrth osod ffiniau mae’n bwysig fod y plant yn deall pwrpas y ffiniau a beth a ddisgwylir ohonynt. Nid oes pwrpas dweud wrth blentyn am beidio dringo’r wal os nad ydych yn esbonio pam. Mae angen esbonio’r peryglon a’r canlyniadau tebygol wrth dorri rheolau i’r plant ac mae angen iddynt wybod a deall canlyniadau croesi'r terfynau hyn. Wrth i blant fynd yn hŷn, a deall mwy, gallant weld pwrpas y terfynau, a gallant hefyd gyfrannu’n well at eu gosod.
Gellir gosod rheolau:
Mae angen i’r lleoliad a’r cartref weithio mewn partneriaeth er mwyn hyrwyddo ymddygiad positif, gan gymryd camau i atal ymddygiad negyddol, i atgyfnerthu rheolau’r lleoliad ac i gefnogi’r ysgol pan fydd angen cosbi plentyn neu berson ifanc. Oherwydd hyn bydd plant yn derbyn negeseuon cyson am sut i ymddwyn yn gadarnhaol yn y lleoliad ac yn y cartref.

Behaviour is learned by children and it's essential that childcare workers know this so they can use suitable methods to manage their behaviour. To support positive behaviour, consistent approaches and responses are vital as the child is going through the process of learning and starting to come to understand themselves and the world around them. A child's self-concept and self-image must be considered, along with the fact that consistency in behaviour management can impact these elements. If policies are in place in childcare settings, the approaches will be obvious, and all staff members need to familiarise themselves with them to maintain consistency within the workplace. This can be ensured by discussing the policy regularly so that the guidelines are understood by all, for the benefit of the child.
These approaches should be considered:
Mae ymddygiad yn rhywbeth mae plant yn ei ddysgu ac mae’n hanfodol bod gweithwyr gofal plant yn gwybod hyn er mwyn medru defnyddio dulliau addas o reoli eu hymddygiad. Er mwyn cefnogi ymddygiad cadarnhaol mae dulliau gweithredu ac ymatebion cyson yn hanfodol gan fod y plentyn yn mynd drwy’r broses o ddysgu a dechrau dod i ddeall ei hunan a’r byd o’iamgylch. Bydd rhaid ystyried hunangysyniad a hunanddelwedd plentyn a bod cysondeb o ran rheoli ymddygiad yn medru cael effaith ar yr elfennau hyn. Os fydd polisïau yn eu lle o fewn lleoliadau gofal plant bydd y dulliau gweithredu yn amlwg a bydd yn angenrheidiol bod pob aelod o staff yn cyfarwyddo â hwy er mwyn cynnal cysondeb o fewn y gweithle. Gellir sicrhau hyn trwy drafod y polisi yn rheolaidd fel bod y canllawiau yn cael eu deall gan bawb, a hynny er lles y plentyn.

A variety of skills and techniques can be used to support and encourage positive behaviour in children.
Children learn a lot by imitating the behaviour of other children and their parents/carers, whether positive or negative. As children imitate the behaviour of others, it's important that childcare workers are positive role models. By being a positive role model the childcare worker can inspire a child to behave positively without giving direct instructions.
Children like to receive praise and so behave positively in order for this to happen. Children should be praised for their efforts rather than what they achieve. Children could be encouraged to praise each other by clapping or shouting when someone does something positive. This will create a fun-filled environment that promotes positive behaviour. It's important not to give praise if there is no specific reason to do so. You must decide what behaviour needs to be encouraged, and what behaviour is unacceptable.
It's important that children know and understand what's expected of them. When boundaries are set children will come to understand that they can't break these rules. It's a good idea for children to be involved in creating the rules as they will better understand their purpose and therefore be more likely to obey them. The instructions should be clear and easy to understand, and they should be explained verbally and in writing to define acceptable behaviour. Ensure you review the rules regularly with the children.
Consistency is needed when setting rules and boundaries. If children come to understand that the childcare worker is breaking the rules, they will be more likely to challenge the situation. Consistency is also needed when handing out rewards; avoid giving a reward one day for good behaviour but not doing so the following day. If this happens, children won't see the value of behaving positively.
The word 'no' can be effective to stop unacceptable behaviour, but it's important not to overuse a word or it can lose its effect. If the childcare worker uses 'no' it must be ensured that the child understands the meaning of this and that the unacceptable behaviour stops, or it will lose its meaning.
Some childcare workers can manage children's behaviour with a particular look. This method of showing that you're not happy with children's behaviour can be very effective. When the children have realised that you're unhappy and this leads to better behaviour, they should be praised.
Older children can be prevented from behaving unacceptably by explaining to them why their behaviour is unsuitable. You could also explain the consequences of their actions if they don't stop behaving badly. It's important to explain to children that they should treat others in the same way as they like to be treated themselves in order to display and reinforce good behaviour.
Rewarding a child for showing positive behaviour reinforces that behaviour. The child therefore gets the message that this behaviour needs to happen again and will be more likely to repeat the behaviour if rewarded. For this method to be effective, the rewards need to be something the children want to receive. The rewards may be in the form of a star chart or giving children extra time to do things that interests them. It can also be a certificate, a lucky pot, a sticker or permission to phone home.
If the setting is suitably created for children's age and development stage, they can learn in a manner that encourages positive behaviour. A good environment can influence behaviour by taking steps to prevent whatever leads to a child displaying unacceptable behaviour. It's therefore important that the environment is suitable in terms of space, offers sufficient stimulation and that there are opportunities for children to make choices and decisions for themselves.
Mae amrywiaeth o sgiliau a thechnegau mae modd eu defnyddio er mwyn cefnogi ac annog ymddygiad cadarnhaol plant.
Mae plant yn dysgu llawer wrth efelychu ymddygiad plant eraill a’u rhieni/gofalwyr, boed hynny’n gadarnhaol neu yn negyddol. Gan fod plant yn dynwared ymddygiad pobl eraill mae’n bwysig bod yr ymarferwr yn fodelau rôl cadarnhaol. Trwy fod yn fodel rôl bositif gall yr ymarferwr ysbrydoli plentyn i ymddwyn yn gadarnhaol heb gynnig cyfarwyddiadau uniongyrchol.
Mae plant yn hoffi derbyn canmoliaeth ac felly yn ymddwyn yn gadarnhaol er mwyn i hyn ddigwydd. Dylid canmol plant am eu hymdrechion yn hytrach na’r hyn sy’n cael ei gyflawni ganddynt. Gellid annog plant i ganmol ei gilydd trwy glapio neu floeddio pan fydd rhywun yn gwneud rhywbeth cadarnhaol. Bydd hyn yn creu amgylchedd sy’n llawn hwyl ac un sy’n hyrwyddo ymddygiad cadarnhaol. Mae’n bwysig peidio rhoi canmoliaeth os nad oes yna reswm penodol am wneud hynny. Rhaid penderfynu pa ymddygiad sydd angen ei annog, a pha ymddygiad sy’n annerbyniol.
Mae’n bwysig bod plant yn gwybod a deall yr hyn a ddisgwylir ohonynt. Wrth osod ffiniau bydd plant yn dod i ddeall nad ydynt yn medru torri’r rheolau hyn. Mae’n syniad da fod plant yn rhan o greu’r rheolau gan ddeall eu pwrpas yn well ac felly yn fwy tebygol o gadw atynt. Dylai’r cyfarwyddiadau fod yn glir ac yn hawdd i’w deall a dylid eu hesbonio ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig gan ddiffinio beth yw ymddygiad derbyniol. Sicrhewch eich bod yn adolygu’r rheolau yn gyson gyda’r plant.
Mae angen bod yn gyson wrth osod rheolau a ffiniau. Os yw plant yn dod i ddeall bod yr ymarferwr yn torri’r rheolau yna byddant yn fwy tebygol i herio’r sefyllfa. Hefyd mae angen bod yn gyson wrth rannu gwobrau gan osgoi rhoi gwobr un diwrnod am ymddygiad da ond peidio gwneud hynny'r diwrnod canlynol. Os yw hyn yn digwydd ni fydd plant yn gweld gwerth mewn ymddwyn yn gadarnhaol.
Gall y gair ‘na’ brofi’n effeithiol os am atal ymddygiad annerbyniol, ond mae’n bwysig peidio gor-ddefnyddio gair neu gall golli ei effaith. Os yw’r ymarferwr yn defnyddio ‘na’ mae angen sicrhau fod y plentyn yn deall ei ystyr a bod yr ymddygiad annerbyniol yn dod i ben neu bydd yn colli ei ystyr.
Mae rhai gweithwyr gofal plant yn gallu rheoli ymddygiad plant gydag edrychiad arbennig. Gall y modd yma o ddangos nad ydych yn hapus gydag ymddygiad y plant fod yn effeithiol iawn. Wedi i’r plant ddeall eich bod yn anhapus ac mae hyn yn arwain at ymddygiad gwell yna dylid eu canmol.
Gellir atal plant hŷn rhag ymddwyn yn annerbyniol drwy egluro iddynt pam mae eu hymddygiad yn anaddas. Gellid hefyd egluro canlyniadau eu gweithredoedd os na fyddant yn rhoi terfyn ar ymddygiad gwael. Mae’n bwysig egluro wrth blant y dylent drin eraill yn yr un ffordd ag y maent yn hoffi cael eu trin eu hunain er mwyn dangos ac atgyfnerthu ymddygiad da.
Wrth wobrwyo plentyn am ddangos ymddygiad cadarnhaol mae’r ymddygiad hwnnw’n cael ei atgyfnerthu. Mae’r plentyn felly yn derbyn neges bod angen i’r ymddygiad hwn ddigwydd eto a bydd yn fwy tebygol o ailadrodd yr ymddygiad os caiff ei wobrwyo. Er mwyn i’r dull yma brofi’n effeithiol, mae angen i wobrau fod yn rhywbeth y mae plant yn awyddus i’w derbyn. Gall y gwobrwyo fod ar ffurf siart seren neu roi amser ychwanegol i blant wneud yr hyn sydd o ddiddordeb iddynt. Gall hefyd fod yn dystysgrif, yn dwba lwcus, sticer neu ganiatâd i ffonio adre.
Os yw’r lleoliad wedi’i greu’n addas ar gyfer oed a cham datblygiad plant bydd dysgu yn gallu digwydd gan annog ymddygiad cadarnhaol. Mae amgylchedd da yn medru dylanwadu ar ymddygiad trwy gymryd camau i atal yr hyn sy’n arwain at y plentyn yn arddangos ymddygiad annerbyniol. Mae’n bwysig felly bod yr amgylchedd yn addas o ran gofod, yn cynnig symbyliad digonol a bod yna gyfleoedd i blant wneud dewisiadau a phenderfyniadau dros eu hunain.
