Motorycle Events
Morzine - French alps
A number of events are held in Morzine to attract different types of visitors to the resort as well as to provide entertainment for people staying in the town.
These events include cycle races, both in the mountains and on the roads around the area. Events involving local crafts and traditions are also held throughout the summer.
Motor sports events, including a stage of the French rally championship and a Harley Davidson motorcycle weekend are also held.
In addition, events are organised each day by the tourist office, to provide entertainment for people staying in the area.
Major events are hosted from time to time to promote Morzine to a wider market through television coverage. An example of these events was hosting a stage of the Tour de France cycle race in 2007, which was watched on television by millions of people across Europe.

Morzine is also involved in a bid to host the Winter Olympics in the area in 2018. This bid involves holding the ladies downhill skiing race in Morzine and Avoriaz. If this bid is successful it will bring a lot of interest and additional income into the resort.
